Every pattern is uniquely created by Kristen, made to reflect the beauty and strength in everyone along with an invitation for you to follow your bliss and simply say yes to the dream, the art, the movement your soul has been calling for.

The Inspiration

Inspired by Dancers

Why do I do what I do? LOVE for my daughter, LOVE of getting in touch with my own passions & LOVE of inspiring others to do the same. It was my daughter who first sparked this journey. She was a young dancer at The Saint Paul Ballet — graceful, grounded, and growing — but couldn’t find a dance bag that felt like her. Everything was pink, satin, sparkly… and just not her vibe.

So I made one. Just for her.
I turned a stylized ballet shoe into flower petals, designed a repeat pattern, and created fabric for the first dance bag — designed with meaning, beauty, and my ballerina in mind. When I gave it to her, the look in her eyes made all of the hours of hard work totally worth it. Her old tattered bag of tangled tights and hair pins was emptied in minutes. She had something that reflected her spirit, and was a symbol of my belief in her. That meant everything.

That single design grew into a whole collection, along with our tag line —“Inspired by Dancers, Created for Everyone.”✨

The meaning

Kindred Spirits

One of the most unexpected and beautiful parts of starting K.Freyja has been discovering how many kindred spirits are out there. From the very beginning, my customers have been more than just shoppers—there has been a special connection. People who believe in kindness, who celebrate individuality, who care deeply about inclusion and want to see others shine.
It’s become more than a brand—it’s a community. When you carry K.Freyja, you’re carrying something meaningful. You’re part of a circle that believes in lifting each other up, expressing yourself boldly, and creating beauty everyday. It’s more than just bags and accessories—it’s a shared energy, a sense of belonging. When you carry K.Freyja, you carry that spirit with you. You feel it. And you know you’re not alone.

The story

My Creative Journey

Over the years I have worked as a musician, singer/songwriter, artist and designer — in all forms. But there was a point in my life where I found myself disconnected from my sense of self and creativity. My marriage was falling apart & that led to a painful divorce.

During that time, my priority was healing for my daughter & myself. In time, I began trying to rebuild my life — and I knew I needed to create an income, but I needed to use my gifts again, create with heart and reclaim myself.

My daughter found a happy place in the ballet. Now at a pre-professional level, she was dancing over 20 hours per week. It was a long way from home & she needed me to bring her there & home. I spent hours waiting but I didn't want her to have to give up on her dream!

Watching her and her fellow ballerinas move with such passion lit a spark in me. I’d sketch quietly in the studio lobby, watching them defy gravity. They reminded me of what was possible. That’s when I knew: I wanted to design for everyone who’s out there chasing dreams. Dancers. Doers. Makers. Creatives. YOU. And I am so happy you are here! ✨
